Punjabi Garam Masala Powder Preparation

Ingredients:

½ cup coriander seeds / daniya
¼ cup cumin seeds / jeera
2 tablespoons small green cardamoms/ elaichi
8 black cardamoms
2 tablespoons cloves
1 tablespoon peppercorns
6 to 8 sticks of cinnamon, approx. 2 inch
4 large or 6 to 8 medium bay leaves
1 small nutmeg

Directions:

  • Sundry all the ingredients in a paper/plate, or toss them in a pan without oil one after the other until you sense a nice aroma.
  • Stay this until cool, Later blend this into a fine powder Sieve this powder and blend the spices again and sieve.
  • Remove the left over spices after sieve or add this into a tea powder.
  • Now store this in a glass jar to store the aroma.
